How to position a pre-sale development in search
Published 6 Oct 2026 · ProMLS Realty
Most developers ask for the same thing: to show up when someone searches "condos for sale in Puerto Vallarta". The search data of a real portal shows why that is the wrong first goal, and what works instead.
What the data says
Between 13 Jul 2026 and 3 Oct 2026 we measured how every page of Condos Vallarta performs in Google, grouped by type. The specific pages rank far better than the general ones:
| Page type | Pages | Share of clicks | Average position |
|---|---|---|---|
| Development pages | 366 | 15% | 11.7 |
| Unit pages | 2,082 | 62% | 14.8 |
| Guides and FAQ | 21 | 2% | 21.8 |
| Search and category pages | 910 | 20% | 34.7 |
| Home | 2 | 0% | 43.9 |
| Area pages | 33 | 1% | 44.7 |
Source: Google Search Console, condosvallarta.com, 13 Jul 2026 – 3 Oct 2026. Per-page data: shares are indicative, not site totals.
Unit pages bring 62% of the clicks and average position 14.8. Development pages average position 11.7. The home page and the area pages sit around position 44.
The most searched general phrases tell the same story:
| Search | Impressions | Clicks | Average position |
|---|---|---|---|
| puerto vallarta condos for sale | 136 | 0 | 50.3 |
| puerto vallarta condos | 57 | 0 | 51.7 |
| puerto vallarta real estate | 55 | 0 | 55.1 |
| condos for sale in puerto vallarta mexico | 53 | 0 | 55.5 |
| condos for sale in puerto vallarta | 49 | 0 | 51.7 |

"puerto vallarta condos for sale" appeared 136 times at position 50, and nobody clicked. A specific page can already be on the first or second page of results.
What that means
A specific page earns visibility long before a general term does. A development should plan to rank first for its own name, its zone and its type, for example "1 bedroom condo Amapas", and treat the general terms as a long-term result, not a launch promise.
A five-step plan
- Give the development its own page. A unique description, the exact location, amenities, developer, available units and photos.
- Give every unit its own page with price, size and gallery. In this data, unit pages are where most clicks happen.
- Link to the development from places that already have visibility: the main menu, the home page, the zone page and relevant guides. This is how Amapas 314 is featured on Condos Vallarta.
- Write the way buyers search: name, zone and type, in English and Spanish.
- Measure page by page in Search Console: first impressions, then position, then clicks. Do not judge a launch by the general terms.
What to expect
Amapas 314, our first case, started with a development page at position 33.0 and 19 impressions over three months (Search Console, as of 21 September 2026). We will publish the before and after in the case study when the data supports it. Results vary by project and market, and nobody can guarantee a ranking.
